"This video contains some of the only known footage of this remarkably trenchant being. Also includes interviews with Robert Powell, Jean Dunn, Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, and others who knew or were influenced by him".

Jeannie Zandi Private Session Favorite

Jeannie Zandi and John Gehrke have offered this "private session" to all of us.

In June or 2008 Never Not Here was invited to record this most intimate meeting between "Teacher and Student" (two great friends). It is clear that some who view it may misunderstand, or somehow "not get what's happening" or inappropriately judge what this is all about.

But more importantly it is realized that there is a great potential for some Hearts to come along for the ride on this incredible journey.

Never Not Here truly thanks Jeannie Zandi and John Gehrke for their generosity and openness and willingness to share what is poignantly true for them.

This session was shot in Boulder CO in June 2008

"I would also like to share an experience that I had a couple of weeks ago as a declaration of not being so naive. We were having a retreat in a facility that had been a college for a religious institution, and at lunch in the cafeteria I engaged a functionary of that establishment in conversation. We talked about the nature of being, and I asked if being was bigger than the description about being, and if you could know that. It was my testimony that you could know this by being coached to go to the edge of knowing (where thinking breaks down) and hanging out there for a while. I am sure that being is always here and is easily visible or "knowable" by this simple re-focusing of attention.

I was cautioned in that conversation that this is a dangerous practice, (kind of like the axiom "idle hands are the devil's workshop") and that the church does not authorize these "esoteric" experiments. I am convinced that there is nothing esoteric about looking for yourself to see what you are. But I also immediately saw the risk of being demonized by those who are guided to see looking for yourself as a questionable activity.

My personal thanks to John and Jeannie for this incredible gift."

Not everyone who sees with clarity defines themselves as a "teacher".

This is a one hour conversation with my friend John Gehrke. I was planning on using this, to be intermixed with him and Jeannie Zandi, to demonstrate what a private session is like. But it is such a great conversation that I want to share it for a while, just like this.
(I'll still work on Jeannie's part.).

We talk about how each of our lives unfold and change, and I get into what this Never Not Here seems to be all about. John doesn't teach, (only college math, now retired) but just being with him is a beautiful learning about "resting" in being.

This show was shot in Boulder CO 2008:
